Thank you for your interest in joining the Stanford & Westenhanger History Society (SWHS).

Membership costs £10 per year for each individual.

Members receive free entry to all talks and are entitled to a discount on certain publications sold by SWHS.

Payment methods

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Standing order (please set up to pay on 31 January – your bank will take payment every year, automatically keeping your membership active)
  • Bank transfer (for single year payments – you will have to renew your subscription manually)
  • Cheque
  • Cash (come to an event and pay)

    Privacy Notice

    Your data is collected, held and used by SWHS as set out in our Privacy Policy.

    When you register, SWHS collects the minimum necessary information:
    • name
    • email address
    • payment information
      • This information is held on our Membership Register, a copy of which is used:
      • to register your attendance at events organised or sponsored by SWHS
      • to record the date and payment of your membership fee.

      A master copy of the register is held digitally by the Committee.

      SWHS also maintains an electronic mailing list for the following purposes:
      • to keep in contact with members about their membership
      • to send details of upcoming events
      • to give occasional round-ups of any other news or events we feel might be of interest to members

      Your data will not be shared with any third party.
