SUMMARY:The Red Arrows
DESCRIPTION:A talk by Guy Bartlett\n£5 admission (free to members). Doors open 6.30pm\nABOUT THE TALK\nRed Arrows pilots are amongst the most highly-qualified and experienced within the Royal Air Force. \nDuring the display season the Red Arrows perform between 75-85 air displays and more than 100 fly-pasts. \nEach pilot is hand-picked and only a very few will be given the privilege of representing the RAF both in the UK and abroad. \nTheir Hawk aircraft are essentially the same as those used by the Advanced Flying Training students at Royal Air Force Valley\, with the exception of smoke generators and a slightly uprated engine. \nGuy will take an interesting look at the history of the Red Arrows in his most popular talk. \nABOUT THE SPEAKER\nGuy is an aviation historian and trainer.  His catalogue of talks makes him a popular speaker in Kent and across the South East. \nABOUT THE VENUE\nStanford Parish Room was previously the Jazz Bar at Folkestone Racecourse. \nFrom Stone Street\, enter via the old racecourse entrance (signposted Otterpool Park).  Walk through the gate at the end of the lane.  The Parish Room will be in front of you\, right of the parade ring. \nTRAVEL TO THE VENUE\nBy Car:\nFrom the A20\, take Stone Street (signposted Racecourse & Westenhanger Station).  After the houses end\, you will see a white gate on the left\, with a lane immediately after.  Take the lane down to the end and park in the car park on the right\, just before the first building. \nBy Train:\nTake the train to Westenhanger station.  The exit is on Platform 1 – to cross the track from Platform 2\, use the footbridge.  Exit via the car park\, walk up the lane and continue up Stone Street.  Pass the entrance to Westenhanger Castle just outside the station and take the next entrance.  Follow the lane to the end. \nFor timetables\, to book tickets and to check for any journey delays or cancellations\, visit the Southeastern website.
