DESCRIPTION:A talk by Dr Andrew Richardson\n£5 admission (free to members). Doors open 6.30pm\nABOUT THE TALK\nA look at the Anglo-Saxon Kentish royal family. \nABOUT THE SPEAKER\nDr Andrew Richardson is an archaeologist who runs Isle Heritage\, based in Sandgate.  He led the investigation into the relics of Saint Eanswythe in Folkestone’s parish church in 2020 and formed the A Town Unearthed\, Finding Eanswythe and Three Days in January projects.  He is a member of the Saint Eanswythe Research Group. \nABOUT THE VENUE\nStanford Parish Room was previously the Jazz Bar at Folkestone Racecourse. \nFrom Stone Street\, enter via the old racecourse entrance (signposted Otterpool Park).  Walk through the gate at the end of the lane.  The Parish Room will be in front of you\, right of the parade ring. \nTRAVEL TO THE VENUE\nBy Car:\nFrom the A20\, take Stone Street (signposted Racecourse & Westenhanger Station).  After the houses end\, you will see a white gate on the left\, with a lane immediately after.  Take the lane down to the end and park in the car park on the right\, just before the first building. \nBy Train:\nTake the train to Westenhanger station.  The exit is on Platform 1 – to cross the track from Platform 2\, use the footbridge.  Exit via the car park\, walk up the lane and continue up Stone Street.  Pass the entrance to Westenhanger Castle just outside the station and take the next entrance.  Follow the lane to the end. \nFor timetables\, to book tickets and to check for any journey delays or cancellations\, visit the Southeastern website.
